The 2020 People’s Choice Awards with Mulan hailed as the Action Movie of the Year!
The awarding ceremony for the 2020 PCA broadcasted Live on E! The people worldwide voted the winners, and the system recorded a billion votes this year; Mulan is one of the votes’ recipients.
Although the awarding has been undoubtedly unconventional due to the pandemic, there are still many reasons for the award show to celebrate. One of these is the action movie genre, where the 2020 hit Disney movie Mulan bagged the award.
The crowned action movie of the year
Mulan is indeed a massive deal for 2020 as it bagged The Action Movie of the Year, as mentioned above. The movie surpassed Bad Boys for Life and Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
Other action movies that Mulan beat are Bloodshot, Extraction, Project Power, Tenet, and The Old Guard.
The acclaimed filmmaker Niki Caro helmed the epic tale of China’s legendary warrior to life in Disney’s Mulan.
The story reveals a fearless young woman who risks everything out of love for her family and country. Because of her bravery, she then becomes one of the greatest warriors China has ever known.
Mulan joining the roster of well-loved action movies
The Action Movie award was previously held by movies The Hunger Games, Iron Man 3, Divergent, Furious 7, and Deadpool.
The record-breaking film such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame were also recipients of the awards before.
Now, Disney’s Mulan becomes the latest movie to take home the People’s Choice Awards Action Movie trophy.
The determination of the Winners for the People’s Choice Awards was through the votes of the fans. The fans were able to cast their ballots in three ways using the People’s Choice Awards website.
One is through pca.eonline.com, another is through Twitter, and the last is through Xfinity. Per category, fans can vote up to 25 times per day, per method to ensure their choice is heard.
