If the latest report is anything to go by, Apple users might receive a big camera upgrade next year’s iPhone, with a 48MP lens.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s report says that the 2022’s iPhone will have a 48MP camera. Plus, there will be support for 8K as well.
Kuo is known as one of the most trusted informers when it comes to all things Apple. So this news may turn out to be true in the long run.
iPhone with a 48MP lens will be great!
As per Kuo’s report, the California tech giant is currently planning to bring an extensive camera upgrade for its future model.
It implies that 2022’s flagships might possess a 48MP lens for extraordinary photography performance.
On Wednesday, Kuo’s note to investors mentioned “iPhone 14″ models to adopt a 1/1.3” 48MP CMOS image sensor.
It will be for wide-angle camera module functions.
Traditionally, Apple always focuses more on a wide-angle lens before shifting its priorities for telephoto and ultra-wide angle.
Furthermore, Kuo adds that a 48MP sensor could support hybrid operating modes. It will be vital in maximizing pixel size for increasing the hardware’s light-gathering strength.
Here’s an excerpt from the analyst’s report:
“With 12MP output, the CIS pixel size of the new 2H22 iPhone increases to about 2.5um, which is significantly larger than the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, and larger than existing Android phones, and close to the DSC level.”
Moreover, the 8K support also seems likely to arrive by next year. Not to mention that it will only enhance the already excellent video recording experience.
There’s no detail yet regarding the frame rate options.
At the moment, the highest resolution an iPhone can go up to is 4K 60 FPS.
