Spending some quality time with your kids is hard especially if you don’t get to see them a lot. Thankfully, here are the top games you can play with them through Zoom or FaceTime.
Over 316 million Americans, or nearly 95% of the population in the United States, have been ordered to stay at home during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
Gradually, some states are now slowly reopening. Schools remain closed in most places and kids are cut off from one another, understandably bored out of their minds. They are also separated from loved ones who tend to be high-risk like their grandparents, obviously, because of social distancing as one of the most effective ways to slow down the spread of COVID-19.
So, to fill in the gap of times lost, the majority of families use video chat services like FaceTime or Zoom to keep in touch.
Thankfully, for the kids, there are a lot of games to play and here are just some of the examples of the most popular games right now while video chatting with loved ones.
Rock, Paper, Scissors
You probably have been living under a rock if you haven’t heard about this classic game. The game is very simple to play. All you need to do is count off by saying “rock, paper, scissors, shoot!”
You have three choices to choose from: rock, paper, and scissors. Simple enough, rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, and paper beats rock. Boom! You’re all having fun!
Battleship
Another one of the classic old but gold games. The premise is you try to sink your opponent’s fleet. Players would arrange plastic ships on a grid board, take turns calling out coordinates to try and see if they score a direct hit or a fat miss.
Since you can’t see where the enemy’s ships are, you can do this on FaceTime or Zoom and the premise stays the same. Easy enough.
20 Questions
This is more of a mind game that is extremely fun and doesn’t require any equipment whatsoever.
All you need to do is pick a category from anything you can think of. For example, animals. The premise of the game is just to keep asking questions until you are able to land on the correct answer by narrowing down the results to reach the right answer.
There are a ton of games that you can enjoy with kids and make social distancing less painful especially if you’re a tight-knit family. It all depends on how you try to make it work especially in these trying times.
