’90 Day Fiance’ update: Big Ed reflects on failed relationship with Rosemarie

90 Day Fiance: Big Ed reflects on failed relationship with Rosemarie

After several heated controversies surrounding the 90 Day Fiance Season 7, Big Ed looks back on his failed relationship with Rosemarie Vega.

When Ed Brown—who goes by the name “Big Ed”—and Rosemarie Vega first appeared in 90 Day Fiance, avid followers of the reality show were quick to notice the obvious age gap of the two.

Ed was 54-years-old, while Rosemarie was only 23. The two met online with Ed living in San Diego, and Rosemarie living in the Philippines. Apparently, as Ed later on revealed, the age gap wasn’t a big issue for Rosemarie.

On its seventh season, 90 Day Fiance featured eight international couples, including Ed and Rosemarie, who have existing online relationships and met for the first time.

A few of the episodes featured Ed flying from San Diego to the Philippines to meet Rosemarie for the first time. The couple was seen to go through a lot of challenges, especially with how Ed had treated Rose which resulted in a short-lived relationship.

The age gap never bothered Rosemarie

On Saturday, The Night Time Show invited Ed as their guest for the episode. During the podcast, Ed recalled the moments when he first met Rosemarie online up to the time he flew to the Philippines to meet her.

“The first conversation we had was, ‘Look, Rose, I’m 54. I’m old enough to be your dad,’ and she’s like ‘Well, you’re actually one year older than my dad,” People quotes Ed from the podcast. “And I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, so great, let’s just be friends.’ And she’s like ‘No, age is just a number,’” he added.

According to the professional photographer, he felt amazed by Rosemarie’s matured mindset. He then shared how he immediately felt the need to help her since Rosemarie is a single mom to a 4-year-old boy.

Ed and his relationship with his daughter

One of the challenges Ed faced even before the show started was his 29-year-old daughter’s disapproval of his new relationship. Tiffany thinks doing the show was a bad idea.

Ed shared that his daughter and ex-wife were a fan of the show. When he told Tiffany of his plans on joining the show, his daughter disapproved right away.

Despite the disagreement, Ed still went on and did the show. Before he left, he reminded Tiffany if he never gets to see her again, she should know he loves him.

Although Ed thinks the show was the worst thing he has gone through, he had no regrets doing it still.
