Marvel fans are unhappy after a recent episode of MCU Legends ignored Peggy Carter-based ABC series, Agent Carter.
It was a shock for many Agent Carter fans who noticed that the show is not considered canon to the MCU regarding Peggy Carter.
Fans angry over the ignorance of ‘Agent Carter’ before ‘What If…?’
A recent episode of Legends snubbed the past ABC title while mentioning Carter’s appearances in the MCU.
The recap showed her moments from The First Avenger, Endgame, and even the One-Shot from 2013. But surprisingly, there was no mention of Agent Carter!
It implies that Marvel Studios didn’t consider the ABC show a part of the timeline in the MCU.
Upcoming What If…? will introduce Peggy as Captain Carter in one of its episodes, starting next week. And before its arrival, makers wanted to refresh the memories of fans about the character.
Actress Hayley Atwell played the role of Peggy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, it seems like many die-hard followers of Marvel didn’t like what they saw in Legends‘ 10-minute clip. Maybe they hoped for characters from Agents of SHIELD entering the MCU.
Fans complained that they couldn’t believe the makers ignored Peggy’s solo show Agent Carter on social media. And that too when she’s about to appear in the What If…? Disney Plus series.
Thus, it seems like an unpromising start for the lovers from the era of Agents of SHIELD.
It’s not confirmed, though, whether or not Marvel Studios will include the events of non-canon MCU shows into the main timeline in the future.
Here are some fan reactions on the recent Legends recap episode if you want to see them.
Disappointed at the Marvel Studios Legends' Peggy Carter episode. Can't believe they reduced her to a love interest and ignored two whole seasons of Peggy kicking bad guys ass and her character development… Agent Carter was a great show! #AgentCarter https://t.co/FPpNK6TCei

I can't believe they ignored her own show in her "Legends" episode. #Marvel #AgentCarter pic.twitter.com/CBn80WrtTH

I know the "Marvel Studios Legends" on Disney plus serves as a "previously on…" type of recap for their new shows. But COME ON, Peggy Carter is WAY MORE than a recap of the Steve in The First Avenger! #PeggyCarter #AgentCarter

More MCU titles in the future
Meanwhile, the popular superhero franchise is giving out back-to-back hits since the beginning of 2021. After the long pause due to the pandemic, MCU made a massive return with multiple offerings.
Thanks to Disney Plus, we saw titles like WandaVision, The Falcon, and the Winter Soldier and recently concluded Loki. The Black Widow movie also made its way, finally, following a long delay.
But the streak won’t end anytime soon. It will keep extending further with many upcoming projects.
Apart from the What If…?, the franchise will also witness new arrivals such as Hawkeye and possibly Ms. Marvel.
Next month, we will introduce a new superhero in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in films. And then Eternals will also release in November.
Coming back to the upcoming What If…?, it will make its official debut from August 11 onwards, only Disney+.
