Call of Duty publisher Activision is planning to expand its team of developers by 2,000 over the next two years. It’s going to grow big now!
Activision is aiming to triple its team sizes as its dealing with multiple franchises these days. There is the main Call of Duty series along with the mobile version and the now-famous Warzone.
The publisher recently revealed a lot of information in its earnings results for the first quarter of 2021.
Activision to expand itself in multiple teams!
The good news for Activision is that its latest revenue stood at $2.28 billion. It’s more than the previously forecasted amount of $2.02 billion.
While sharing the earnings, it also shared its strategy for the current fiscal year and beyond.
It announced that it would hire 2,000 new developers in the next two years.
This new approach means that apart from hit Call of Duty titles, it’s also focusing on the ever-growing Warzone.
Just recently, Activision revealed the big news of Sledgehammer Games leading the next COD installment charge.
The publisher is also constantly witnessing massive growth since 2019. Speaking of the shooter franchise, then the figures increased by 72% year-on-year.
And the main credit goes to its releases like Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Call of Duty: Warzone.
It’s likely to follow the method of offering premium titles, free-to-play, and mobile versions for coming years.
The simple reason is that it just works!

New video games coming in 2021
Meanwhile, there are lots of heavyweights already scheduled to arrive this year. The competition will be tough among various publishers soon!
This month itself will reveal a big wave of potential blockbusters like Resident Evil 8 and Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
Halo Infinite, Far Cry 6, Horizon Forbidden West, STALKER 2, and God of War: Ragnarok is also highly anticipated.
But that’s not it!
The line-up extends further with Dying Light 2, Deathloop, GhostWire: Tokyo, Stray, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Humankind, New World, Biomutant, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Psychonauts 2, and No More Heroes 3 are other crucial launches.
Several recently announced projects making their debuts soon are The Day Before, Glitchpunk, and Etched Memories.
The Activision then its highly awaited Call of Duty entry is expected to release later in 2021.
