Adam Levine wasn’t present at Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s wedding because he was allegedly not invited.
Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have been working together for The Voice for 16 seasons. They had always shared a friendly banter on the show. Shelton even said he wanted the Maroon 5 frontman to get her band together for his wedding. However, Levine was a no-show at Gwen Stefani and Shelton’s big day.
Adam Levine allegedly did not receive a wedding invite
Adam Levine has been good friends with the groom and bride Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. The three had worked together on the reality talent competition The Voice.
So, many were surprised that Levine wasn’t present at the wedding. But their other The Voice pal Carson Daly was there and even officiated the wedding ceremony. Apparently, Levin didn’t get an invite, according to an insider.
“Adam had no idea when Gwen and Blake were going to get married,” an unnamed source told Radar.
“Adam wasn’t invited to the wedding and was not given the heads up despite the fact that Blake and Adam used to be as close as brothers when they were both on The Voice together.”
The insider added that Levine only learned about the wedding online. Several celebrities didn’t get an invite to Shelton and Stefani’s wedding. Aside from the Maroon 5 singer, Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, CeeLo Green and new host Ariana Grande were not invited either.
The tipster added that there is no drama, it’s just that the couple wanted their wedding for close friends and family and not for Hollywood celebrities.
Couple wants a simple wedding
Gwen Stefani spoke about her wedding to Blake Shelton in April. In her interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers, she said that they wanted their big day to be “very simple.” The Rich Girl songstress also said they would not have a lot of musicians as wedding guests. Instead, they were looking for an intimate wedding with their families.
Stefani added that their wedding would be simple but “really fun.” She stressed that it would not be a big event like the queen and king are getting married.
Also, although Blake Shelton previously said he wanted Adam Levine’s Maroon 5 to be the wedding band Stefani already said it would not happen. Shelton made the statement after watching their “Sugar” music video where they crashed various weddings.
Stefani said she would love to have Levine sing at their wedding, but it won’t happen. The No Doubt singer said they would go for a playlist and would not have a wedding band.
Levine spent the weekend in Miami, where he is believed to be recording new music. His wife Behati Prinsloo and their daughters were with him.
