It’s not often that people would see a prominent politician simp on a YouTuber. But that is exactly what had happened when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez played Among Us with a couple of Internet personalities.
The term “simping” might be too extreme to use. However, there is no denying that the 31-year-old politician was baffled by Corpse Husband’s low baritone voice.
Before the game began, viewers saw AOC giggling and remarking at Corpse Husband’s voice when he asked what map they would be playing on. “His voice is so deep!” AOC exclaims.
When the game finally began and Corpse reported Pokimane’s body, AOC still hasn’t recovered saying how she can’t get over his voice. “I can’t get over this dude’s voice. It’s so low,” she says while suppressing a laugh.
At another meeting, AOC couldn’t help but agree when Gus commented on how he felt like he was listening to an Edgar Allan Poe narration after Corpse explained where he had been. And when DrLupo said he was distracted by Corpse’s voice, AOC quickly jumped on saying, “See! I’m not the only one.”
She’s definitely not the only one as viewers quickly took to Twitter to express their delight on the AOC-Corpse interaction.
Obviously, that is not his actual name. Corpse Husband is a YouTuber whose content focuses on horror story narrations. Corpse also releases his own music from time to time. A mysterious figure, no one really knows who Corpse is. Apart from a select few of his closest friends, no one has really seen his face.
People only know him by his deep baritone voice which further adds to the mystery that is Corpse Husband.
Lately, the mysterious YouTuber has seen a significant rise in popularity especially after getting in on the Among Us hype. He’s clearly good friends with Jacksepticeye and Pewdiepie. The latter even remarked how Corpse hit puberty twice during a stream.
His connections with popular gamers like PewDiePie and as well as OfflineTV, Valkyrae, and more had caused him to blow up in popularity. And he’s also a pretty good Among Us player. MoistCr1tikal, his frequent Among Us buddy, even ranked him as an S-class player in the game. And his voice probably gives him quite the advantage.
In fact, there was even a time when he admitted he was the Impostor but he still won the game.
It certainly is uncommon for politicians to venture into the world of gaming. But AOC’s stream can be considered a massive success as it racked up around 439,000 concurrent views. Combining this with the views on Pokimane, HasanAbi, Jacksepticeye, Moist, and DrLupo’s streams, that figure is around 700,000.
But Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t just play for fun. At the beginning of the stream, she made it clear that she wants everyone to get out and vote. Of course, by voting, she meant for the Democratic party.
