Penn Badgley is confirmed to return on Netflix as a psychotic stalker and killer in the thriller series You.
After the massive success of season one and two of the thriller series, You on Netflix, it’s coming for a third season with Penn Badgley as the lead who portrays a sinister and killer’s role. The Gossip Girl actor was vastly acknowledged for his role in You.
All you need to know about season 3
Radio Times reported that season 3 of the Netflix psychological thriller is confirmed and in works to start production by next year. Seasons one and two gained massive popularity where Badgley plays Joe Goldberg and essays the killer’s character. Season one commenced on September 9, 2018, and the second season started on December 26, 2019.
The latest season, which is in works, is expected to arrive in 2021. Although the exact dates haven’t been mentioned, it is said that the entire season will have ten episodes, just like the first two seasons.
The show’s shooting did begin earlier this year, but like almost all other productions, it came to a halt because of the ongoing pandemic. The hit show producer, Sara Gamble, confirmed in February this year that the production has begun for the latest season.
Show details and cast of “You”
The show began in 2018 with its protagonist Joe Goldberg, essayed by Penn Badgley, most famously known for his role as Dan Humphrey in the popular TV show, Gossip Girl. Unlike his character of a young writer who tries to make his way into the Upper East Side in New York in Gossip Girl, Penn plays a stalker and killer in You and is sure to make you uncomfortable with his antics.
Season one had him fall for Guinevere Beck, who he relentlessly stalked, pursued, and then murdered. Season two shows him packing his bags and changing cities from New York to Los Angeles, where he meets his next love interest and target, Love Quinn, played by Victoria Pedretti.
While the second season was filled with significant twists and turns, the most mind baffling one was the cliffhanger where they ended season two. It shows Joe being interested in another girl, who they don’t show on screen, which is probably the next target and loves interest in this psychotic killer.
The author of the books announced on Twitter that the third part of the book would be out on April 6, 2021. And with the book being completed, the show’s producers and writers can now finish the scripts for season three.
