The annual Amazon Prime Day sale is coming on October 13 and will be a two-day event, which ends the following day—on the 14th.
Usually, Amazon Prime Day is expected mid-July. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual event got postponed.
CNN describes Amazon Prime Day as “Christmas in the summer, and sales routinely outpace Black Friday.”
This year will be the biggest
In a statement given to CNN, Amazon Prime’s vice president, Jamil Ghani, predicts this year’s Amazon Prime Day will be “bigger than it has ever been.”
Ghani further notes:
“It certainly has been an unprecedented year and we have been preparing for what follows all year. We think Oct. 13 and 14 is the right time to kick off a successful and safe holiday season.”
This year, Amazon will be highlighting the small businesses on its e-commerce website. Accordingly, USA Today reports that Amazon dubs the event as its “biggest small business promotion.”

“We’re really trying to put the spotlight and the energy of Prime Day behind these small businesses.”
Moreover, starting today until October 12, before the Amazon Prime Day starts, Prime members will reportedly get a $10 credit to use on the day of the event sale.
The $10 credit is given to Prime members who “spend $10 on items sold by select small businesses on Amazon.”
It should be noted that the generous credit can be used on ” almost any product” on Amazon “including small businesses.”
Although, on its support page, it states that the credit “does not apply to purchases of digital books, alcohol, Amazon Gift Cards, subscriptions, tax, shipping costs, gift wrapping charges, Prime memberships, digital products, or Prime Now orders.”
The credit will only be redeemable during the two-day sale event.
