Amazon corporate workers won’t return to the office until January 2022. The company has made this commemorated decision on account of the surge of COVID-19 cases all across the globe.
With this, there is a delay in four months of what Amazon planned before. Previously, Amazon would ask employees to return on a hybrid basis from September 7th, 2021.
But now the plan seems to change a bit with a delay of four months.
In June, Amazon released return-to-office protocols and procedures for its employees. The procedure and protocols are still intact, while a delay is only observed until now. Wearing masks will be optional for people who are fully vaccinated.
What is the hybrid basis of in-office work cited by Amazon?
People having their partial vaccination or no vaccination will have to keep their mask-on during office hours. The latest post by the company, however, states something associated with return-to-office guidance for the employees.
Employees will work on a hybrid basis in which they will have to work in the office for three days and two days remotely. As there is a surge in cases of COVID-19 all across the globe, pushing back the employees back to the office is a bit challenging.
Companies are reforming more and more ideas to provide a better and efficient way of working. Many other giant tech companies are also planning several methods to push back in-office employees.

To name a few, Microsoft, Google, and Facebook are also reconsidering various methods. All these companies have stated that the employees are supposed to have the vaccination before return.
The bottom line of the content
Last month, Amazon stated that it isn’t asking the employees to get vaccinated. But the masking protocols for the non-vaccinated employees have to be maintained during office hours.
Undoubtedly, several workers, including the warehouse and whole-food staff of Amazon, were doing on-site jobs during the pandemic. In October 2020, Amazon reported that between 1st March 2020 and 19th September 2020, 20,000 of its workers either tested positive or were presumed positive for COVID-19.
In July 2021, the company stated that it would stop its on-site warehouse testing program. The company also states that it will resume the testing if the official health guidance changes. Amazon is still following local health protocols and guidance.
It stopped the on-site warehouse testing because there was the widespread availability of testing in the US. With the commencement of this rule, the company is trying to lower down the risk of employees.
