Amber Heard has become even more popular after playing the role of Mera opposite Jason Momoa in Aquaman. However, many have been calling out Warner Bros.’ to drop her from the franchise after she admitted to hitting her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Two outlets claimed that Heard has been fired.
In one episode of Andy Signore’s “Reality or Rumor,” he decided to address the speculations about Emilia Clarke replacing Heard as Mera on the superhero flick. Signore said that there was no truth about it.
No sources confirmed to him that the Game of Thrones star would be the new Mera. However, an insider told him that Heard had been fired from the franchise. He also noted how Heard was being vague when interviewed about Aquaman 2. For him, she was only saving face every time she spoke about her involvement in the movie.
“The reality I’ve heard is that she’s out because she’s uninsurable because she’s such a liability to a production given all the stuff that’s already out there, given the fan reactions, given that something else could fall that makes her a liability for a production and for an insurance plan,” Signore said.
Meanwhile, the Australian site Sausage Roll also reported the same. However, the decision to fire Amber Heard had nothing to do with Johnny Depp’s case, according to the outlet. She allegedly breached the health clause in her contract that prompted the production to replace her.
“Amber Heard did not pass her physical examination. She’s put on some pounds and is in terrible shape,” a source told Sausage Roll. “There is a clause in her contract which says she is required to be in good form ahead of shooting and she violated that.”
Several were very happy after learning that Amber Heard had been fired from Aquaman 2. Many aired their disapproval of her casting on the superhero flick due to her ongoing legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp.
She alleged that the Pirates of Caribbean star was abusive and violent, but there were many pieces of evidence supporting Depp’s claim that she hurt him. Heard also admitted in a recording that she hit Depp and even taunted him to tell the world and see if the people would believe him. Many felt that Heard’s firing was justice for Depp, who lost several projects due to her allegations.
However, some were also sad because they believed that Heard was played the role very well in the first Aquaman movie. One netizen said she didn’t mind about Heard’s issues because, for her, she was the perfect Mera.
Fans should note that there is no official word from Warner Bros. about Amber Heard’s status in the film, whether she was fired or not. Also, the actress has not released a statement about the rumors yet.
