Amber Heard was begging for global humiliation with her allegations against Johnn Depp that he was abusive and violent. The actor told a pal over text that she would get it.
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp dated for a couple of years before tying the knot in 2015. However, their marriage only lasted for a year because they split in 2016. But their ongoing legal battle has been on for years.
Amber Heard allegedly wanted a global humiliation
In March, the trial of Johnny Depp’s case against The Sun was set. Amber Heard was there to support the tabloid who called Depp “wife-beater.”
However, the Pirates of the Caribbean star failed to make an appearance because he was in France, which was in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Adam Wolanski QC, for NGN, the publisher of The Sun, said that Depp wanted the trial to be adjourned not due to the coronavirus. Instead, Depp allegedly couldn’t face the prospect of his lies about his relationship with Heard being exposed.
Wolanski then read a text that Depp sent to his friend Christian Carino in August 2016.
“She is begging for global humiliation. She is going to get it,” Depp text.
Depp also described his ex-wife “gold-digging, low-level, dime-a-dozen, mushy, pointless.”
Wolanski added that Depp conducted a “sustained campaign of vicious leaks and smears.” He continued saying that Heard wanted the trial to go ahead, so Depp’s four-year abuse would end.
Johnny Depp’s rep responded
Johnny Depp’s representative Jennifer Afia denied Wolanski’s allegations that the actor wanted the trial to be adjourned. She insisted that The Tourist star was “extremely keen for these proceedings to proceed as soon as possible so that he can vindicate his reputation.”
Afia also suggested that the court be realistic, responsible, and safe. Moreover, at the time, London was likely to be in full lockdown, so Depp, who wanted to travel, couldn’t physically attend the hearing.
He wasn't "threatening", he was venting to his friend.

Many still supported Depp
Earlier this year, an audio recording of Amber Heard confessing that she started their fight and hit Depp leaked. Heard can also be heard taunting Depp to tell the world that the was the victim and see how many would believe him.
Following the leakage, several netizens backed Depp. The hashtag “#JusticeforJohnny” and “#JusticeforJohnnyDepp” went viral. It also changed the narrative of their split. Many shifted to support Depp instead of Heard.
As for the controversial text that Wolanski read, it was not the only text that Depp made to a friend. He also texted Paul Bettany, “Let’s drown her before we burn her!!!”
However, many still supported Depp because the messages were pale in comparison to Heard’s audio recording. Unlike Heard, Depp never acted on it.
One said Depp could fantasize about hurting Heard like anyone when in anger. However, there is still no proof that he hurt her, unlike Heard’s admission that she hit on him.
Another also said that the text was not a threat. Depp was only venting his anger to a friend, and many do the same when they are so upset.
Got nothing to say about her actual admission of abuse though? He can fantasize all day, but if there’s no proof he tried to act on it, it means nothing. She however full on admitted she beats him and y’all don’t give a shit:https://t.co/avgL9ZdhOc
