Amber Heard just confirmed her return to Aquaman 2 as Mera.
In recent months, there have been talks that Amber Heard might not reprise her role in the franchise. After all, audio recordings of her seemingly admitting to physically abusing Depp surfaced online earlier this year.
Amber Heard will begin filming Aquaman 2 in February
Heard released a statement this week regarding her defamation trial against Depp that will take place in January 2021. The Pirates of the Caribbean star recently requested for the trial date to be moved between March and June.
The Rum Diary star fired back at Depp by saying that if the court grants his request, her filming schedule for Aquaman 2 will be affected. Depp wants the trial date moved so that he could film Fantastic Beasts 3.
Heard’s statement about her filming schedule getting delayed confirms her return to Aquaman 2.
Johnny Depp requests to delay defamation trial against Amber Heard
The actress also slammed the Pirates of the Caribbean star for not letting the heads of production to their trial dates.
“Mr. Depp decided that, rather than speak with his employer to work his film commitments around his trial, he asks this court to subserviently reschedule around his employment and the entire film schedule and production. Although Mr. Depp had been contacted in late June or July with the proposed filming dates, he did not alert [movie bigs] to the trial dates,” the statement read.
Heard defended his request by saying that COVID-19 delayed the production for Fantastic Beasts 3.
Amber Heard seeking $100 million from her ex-husband
Amber Heard also made headlines this week after she countersued Depp and accused her ex-husband of starting a smear campaign against her. Heard is, reportedly, seeking $100 million in damages.
“Not content to let the jury decide this lawsuit, Mr. Depp and/or his agents acting on his behalf have orchestrated a false and defamatory smear campaign. [He created] ‘dozens if not hundreds’ [of bots and] ‘social media accounts created specifically for the purpose of targeting her. These accounts are designed to damage Ms. Heard and her livelihood without being directly traceable to Mr. Depp,” the document read.
The actress also accused Depp of ruining her life and career when he, reportedly, made false and defamatory remarks against her. Heard also reiterated that she’s a victim of domestic violence and abuse.
As of late, Depp and his camp haven’t responded to the filing made by Amber Heard.
