Amber Heard welcomed her daughter months ago – long before she publicly announced the news.
Amid the legal headaches, Amber Heard reserved a space in her life for the coming of her daughter.
Through an Instagram post, Heard shared to her followers the first glimpse of her 12-week old baby, Oonagh Paige.
According to the 35-year-old actress, she has been wanting to have her child at her own terms. The Aquaman star hinted at surrogacy as her “chosen path” to become a parent.
“I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib. A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this,” she penned.
In the latter part of her unanticipated announcement, Heard disclosed that Oonagh Paige was born on April 8, 2021. The lovely daughter then immediately received a sweet nickname from her mother: “the beginning of the rest of my life.”
Having the baby delivered by a surrogate mother was not that surprising, though, as she currently dating cinematographer Bianca Butti. They began seeing each other in early 2020.
Their daughter’s name offered a nod to Heard’s late mother, Paige, who died in May.
Hope Came Amid Heard’s Legal Trial
The actress’ announcement comes amid her years old legal showdowns with Johnny Depp. The estranged couple has been throwing allegations at each other, insisting the domestic violence incidents when they were married.
Heard and Depp will not see each other until the defamation case in April 2022. The court moved the trial to its current date due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Pirates of the Caribbean star faced embarrassment during the July 7 libel trial last year.
At that time, Depp filed a lawsuit against News Group Newspapers, the publisher of The Sun. The actor fought over a 2018 damaging article where he was nicknamed a “wife beater.”
Through the three-week trial, Depp and Heard provided their evidence. One of the actor’s claims includes how Heard defecated in his bed and punched him on multiple occasions.
Heard, for her part, accused her ex-husband of abusing her and throwing a phone in her face. She repeatedly indicted him for threatening to kill her.
Unfortunately, the judge ruled in favor of The Sun, causing Depp to lose his notable Captain Jack Sparrow and Gellert Grindelwald roles.
