Amber Heard is allegedly the abuser and not Johnny Depp, according to his former personal assistant.
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s legal battle continues after the latter sued The Sun for calling him “wife-beater.” The report sprang from Heard’s allegations that Depp was abusive and violent. However, a new witness came forward and claimed otherwise.
Amber Heard is the abuser, not Johnny Depp
Stephen Deuters, Johnny Depp’s former personal assistant, released a statement to support the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
“I, along with many others, was extremely surprised and outraged when this hit the press,” Deuters said in his statement obtained by Page Six.
“I knew that Ms. Heard was the abuser in the relationship and I was appalled that she would behave in this way.”
Besides, according to Deuters, between the two, it was Depp who spoke about being abused. Heard never complained, and he never saw her injured.
“At no point did Ms. Heard ever mention any physical abuse and I never saw evidence of any injury to Ms. Heard,” he continued.
“In contrast, Mr. Depp told me on multiple occasions that Ms. Heard had attacked him or abused him physically and verbally.”
Depp’s exes support him
Meanwhile, Johnny Depp’s exes backed him against Amber Heard’s abuse allegations. Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder both issued a statement to dismiss Heard’s claims. In contrast to Heard’s allegations, Depp was never violent or abusive with them.
“Through all these years I’ve known Johnny to be a kind, attentive, generous, and non-violent person and father,” Paradis said (via Daily Mail). “He was never violent or abusive to me.”
“I cannot wrap my head around (Ms Heard’s) accusations,” Ryder said in her statement. “He was never, never violent towards me. He was never, never abusive at all towards me.”
Depp claimed Heard approached him with an agenda
During Johnny Depp’s trial for his libel case against The Sun, he alleged that Amber Heard approached him with an agenda. According to him, Heard copied him and showed the same enthusiasm in things that interest him. However, he later learned that she wanted to marry him to boost her popularity.
“She was beautiful, seemingly incredibly interested in me and my work, and I fell for it,” Depp said in court documents obtained by People.
“It was not until much later that I understood that she had an agenda, namely to get married to me in order to progress her own career and/or to benefit financially, and she knew how to bring it about.”
