Amber Heard took the stand in court following allegations that Johnny Depp is a wife-beater.
The Sun accused Depp of being a wife-beater after Amber Heard wrote an op-ed piece for The Washington Post. Depp immediately denied the claims, and he filed a lawsuit against the publication’s editor, Dan Wootton, and publisher, NGN.
According to reports, Heard will appear in court for three days, where she will be questioned regarding her allegations against Depp. The Aquaman actress accused her ex-husband of domestic violence. She also said that there were 14 instances where Depp became abusive to her.
Heard is expected to share details about her alleged encounters with Depp. And her sister, Whitney, may also be called as a witness.
Johnny Depp files lawsuit
Depp’s trial against The Sun has been ongoing for two weeks. And the Pirates of the Caribbean actor was also quizzed by lawyers for five straight days.
Several people have come forward to defend the actor. And they also denied claims that he was abusive to Heard.
Some witnesses also said that they never saw Heard with bruises and marks all over her body. Depp has also been adamant at saying that it was Heard who assaulted him on multiple occasions.
Amber Heard, Elon Musk affair claims
The actor also accused Heard of having an affair with Elon Musk. And some testimonies from witnesses suggested that the actor’s claims may have been correct.
One of the witnesses said that Musk started visiting Heard at home in 2015. And the Tesla CEO usually arrived at 11 p.m. and stayed until midnight.
During that time, Depp and Heard were still legally married. Musk, allegedly, visited Heard while Depp was away filming.
But Musk previously claimed that he and Heard only started hanging out after the latter filed for divorce from Depp.
Amber Heard claimed Johnny Depp threatened to kill her
Meanwhile, during her first day on the stand, Heard claimed that Depp threatened to kill her on multiple occasions. The Rum Diary actress said that there was a time when Depp seemingly took her hostage while he was on a drug and alcohol binge.
“Some incidents were so severe that I was afraid he was going to kill me, either intentionally, or just by losing control and going too far,” she said.
Heard also said that Depp was very charismatic and he has, reportedly, good at manipulating people.
“He would blame all his actions on a self-created third party instead of himself, which he often called ‘the monster.’ He would speak about it as if it was another person or personality and not him doing all these things,” Amber Heard said.
