Amber Heard accused her ex-husband Johnny Depp of being abusive and violent. Her makeup artist supported her claim, but her stylist didn’t.
Amber Heard insisted that Johnny Depp abused her when they were together. Her makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis said in a declaration in 2019 that she saw the Aquaman star’s bruised face and cut lip. She observed the injuries on the day Heard was about to appear on The Late Show With James Corden.
“Amber repeatedly told me that she did not want to expose this part of her life to the public, and that she was considering canceling the appearance altogether,” Inglessis said (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Inglessis began working for Heard in 2015. She also remembered Heard telling her numerous times that she had been abused.
Meanwhile, Amber Heard’s longtime celebrity stylist Samantha McMillen disputed the claims that she had injuries on her face.
In a court document obtained by The Blast, McMillen admitted that she was with Heard on the day she was set to appear on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Dec. 16, 2015.
The actress alleged that she had two black eyes following an argument with Johnny Depp the previous night. However, McMillen didn’t see it.
“Throughout the day of December 16, 2015, I could see clearly that Amber Heard did not have any visible marks, bruises, cuts, or injuries to her face or any other part of her body,” McMillen said.
It wasn’t the only event when McMillen disputed Heard claims. On May 24, 2016, Heard and Depp had an argument at home. Three days later, the actress appeared on the court with bruises on her face.
Johnny Depp vehemently denied that he hit her. The surveillance footage also showed that Heard didn’t have any visible injuries days after the brawl.
McMillen supported Depp’s statement. According to her, she met Heard on the day of her alleged brutal fight with Depp.
“She came to me at the bottom of the staircase in Mr. Depp’s house and gave me a hug, sobbing,” McMillen recalled.
“Three days after my encounter with Ms. Heard, on May 27, 2016, I saw in the media that Ms. Heard had gone to Court with prominent injuries visible on her face. I knew that she did not have those marks on her face May 24, 2016 when I was with her.”
Depp believed that Heard “painted on bruises” to obtain a restraining order from him. If the actress is proven guilty of falsifying evidence against Depp, she could face 3-year imprisonment.
