The AMD Ryzen 3000XT series is expected to hit the market soon. Also, the chipmaker promises that its processors will pack a punch.
The AMD Ryzen 3000XT is slated as a sort of filler before the official launch of the Ryzen 4000 series. Nevertheless, the company promises that the upgraded version of the Ryzen 3000 series will be powerful enough.
The upgrades
AMD promises that the new XT processors will provide performance boost of at least four percent. Per usual, three processors are expected to be part of this lineup. All processors will use the same AM4 platform.
On top of the list is the Ryzen 9 3900XT. This piece of hardware boasts 12 cores and 24 threads. It has a base clock of 3.8GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.7GHz. The processor is unlocked, so overclocking is possible, and it has a TDP of just 105W.
Second, on the list is the Ryzen 7 3800XT. This processor packs eight cores and 16 threads. It has a base clock of 3.9GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.7GHz. This processor is also unlocked and has a TDP of 105W.

At the bottom of the list is the Ryzen 5 3600XT. It has six cores and 12 threads. It has a base clock of 3.8GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.5GHz. The processor is also unlocked and has a default TDP of 65W.
AMD is still pushing its aggressive pricing scheme, a strategy that works very well for the company. The 3900XT is priced at $499, the 3800XT costs $399, while the 3600XT costs $249.
A new chipset
Aside from a set of new processors, AMD is also releasing a new chipset. The new B550 chipset is the company’s first mainstream chipset to support PCIe 4.0. While the X570 does support PCIe 4.0, the chipset is billed for “enthusiast” and not for the mainstream market.
As of this writing, B550 motherboards are already available in the market. Looking at the specs, this new chipset provides more graphics and SSD bandwidth compared to the previous B450 chipset.
These new XT processors are essentially an upgraded version of the standard Ryzen 3000 series. They offer an alternative upgrade lineup for those who cannot wait for the release of Ryzen 4000.
As for the Ryzen 4000 processors, AMD is planning to release it within the next couple of months. The company promises a lot of upgrades and a performance boost with its upcoming processor lineup.
