“Among Us” will arrive on PS4 and PS5, along with exclusive Ratchet & Clank content.
Sony had just held its latest “State of Play” event on Thursday. While the audience obtained several new PlayStation news and updates, it was the announcement about Among Us that appealed the most.
During the presentation, the public learned that the hit social dedication game will arrive soon on PS4 and PS5 consoles.
Announcement from the State of Play
Among Us will continue to support “crossplay and online multiplayer” on Sony’s consoles. Accordingly, PS4 and PS5 users may play the title with others, regardless of the console or platform, according to The Verge.
This is a standard feature of the game, no matter what platform it is on. But, only PlayStation players will be able to get “exclusive Ratchet & Clank” content, which includes skin, hat, and pet.
Aside from Sony’s announcement, the title itself informed its fans and followers on social media about the game’s arrival on PlayStation. The post has since obtained more than 25,000 likes and over 5,000 retweets.
It remains unclear, though, when it will officially drop on Sony’s consoles. Nevertheless, the announcement noted that it will happen later this year.

The increasing popularity of Among Us
Among Us debuted in 2018. But, it was only two years later when its popularity peaked, thanks, in part to the “quarantine gaming conditions of 2020.”
Polygon reported that following the surge of new players amid the pandemic, the hit game eventually launched on Nintendo Switch in December. Days later, Microsoft announced that the game will also arrive on Xbox consoles sometime in 2021.
Now that PlayStation has confirmed the game’s arrival to its platform, both Xbox and PS players will have to wait for more updates. It is likely that details will emerge in the next few months.
Sequel cancellation from InnerSloth
Developer InnerSloth announced earlier in May 2020 that the game would have a sequel. They intended to adjust the “outdated” code base of the original title on the supposed new installment. But, because of the sudden surge of new players, the developer chose to cancel the sequel. Instead, they focused on improving Among Us.
The cancellation announcement emerged in September. InnerSloth explained that Among Us “had amassed 70,000 to 110,000 users per hour” from 30-50 players per hour in the past.
Therefore, to avoid splitting up the newfound player base upon the creation of the sequel, they decided to incorporate what they planned for Among Us 2 in the original title.
