Angelina Jolie, allegedly, rejected Jennifer Aniston’s dinner invitation two years ago.
According to In Touch Weekly, Aniston decided to reach out to Angelina Jolie following her divorce from Justin Theroux. The Friends star, allegedly, wanted to clear the air with Jolie while they were dealing with their respective divorces.
Angelina Jolie allegedly refused to apologize to Jennifer Aniston
However, Jolie, allegedly, refused Aniston’s dinner invitation because she didn’t feel the need to talk to her. An unnamed source claimed that Jolie felt that she didn’t owe Aniston an apology.
The insider also claimed that Jolie was terrified at the thought of meeting Aniston because the former was no longer with Brad Pitt. As such, Jolie, allegedly, felt that she didn’t have any leverage.
“Angelina is all about controlling every situation, and she wouldn’t be able to control this situation because, in the end, she lost Brad too. Her life has fallen apart just like Jen’s did all those years ago when she found out brad and moved on with Angelina,” the source said, as per In Touch Weekly.
Angelina Jolie was open to meeting Jennifer Aniston
Years ago, Jolie told Vogue that she was open to meeting Aniston. The two A-listers had a brief encounter before Jolie and Pitt started filming for Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
“We’ve like, passed each other, and said ‘Hi’ briefly, shook hands. But not a real sit down and talk kind of meeting. That would be her decision, and I would welcome it,” Jolie said.
According to the insider, this was one of the things that encouraged Aniston to reach out to Angelina Jolie. The Morning Show actress thought that her former “nemesis” will be open to meet up with her.
However, one should take the claims made by the tabloid with a grain of salt. Aniston didn’t invite Jolie to have dinner with her two years ago because there’s no reason for her to do so.
Jennifer Aniston calls Angelina feud rumors old and silly
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Aniston said that she and Jolie never fought with each other. It is also untrue that they hate each other.
“I think it’s time people stop with the petty [expletive] and just start celebrating great work and stop with the petty kind of silliness. I think that’s slowly coming to an end, I really do. It’s just tiresome and old. It’s like an old leather shoe. Let’s buy a new pair of shiny shoes,” Jennifer Aniston said.
However, the tabloids continued pitting the A-listers against each other. In March, Woman’s Day claimed that Angelina Jolie banned Aniston from seeing her and Pitt’s six children.
