Based on the documents obtained by The Sun, the couple will be inviting a domestic violence expert to give evidence and help decide the custody of the exes’ six children. Both also take the stand at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Downtown L.A. for cross-examination.
The Maleficent star has only named seven witnesses, including herself and Brad Pitt. She will also have domestic-violence expert Alyce LaViolette testify for her.
“Ms. LaViolette is expected to testify regarding her interactions and communications with the parties, the children, Dr. Katz, other professionals, and third parties regarding the parties and the children,” the document read.
Meanwhile, the Ad Astra actor listed a total of 21 witnesses, including Jolie’s Girl Interrupted co-stars. Pitt is also calling on a number of psychologists and a security guard.
Jolie loses petition to replace judge
Angelina Jolie requested earlier to fire the judge overseeing their divorce. The Changeling star alleged that Judge John W. Ouderkirk wasn’t upfront in his other business arrangements with Brad Pitt’s lawyers.
The court documents showed that Jolie didn’t get what she wanted. An insider claimed Jolie only requested it to delay the court proceedings because she was allegedly losing the legal battle. The insider even likened the move to Jolie, asking for a new referee.
Pitt and his team also alleged that Jolie only requested it to delay adjudication. They added that the kids were the most affected if the process would be further delayed.
Jolie’s lawyer denied it and insisted that they only wanted a fair trial.
Jolie and Pitt after split
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are already single legally, even if their divorce is still ongoing. At present, Pitt is dating German model Nicole Poturalski. Meanwhile, Jolie has not returned to the dating world yet and has decided to focus on their kids.
Jolie and Pitt had a bitter split and were not on speaking terms right after their separation. But months after they parted ways, they decided to work together for the best welfare of their kids.
A few months ago, Pitt was spotted visiting Jolie’s home to see their kids. However, she allegedly demanded that Pitt undergo a 14-day quarantine before seeing their children after he returned from his trip to France with Poturalski.
