Angelina Jolie is very sensitive to her adopted children

Angelina Jolie loves kids, and this is evident in her brood. She adopted Maddox in 2002 in Cambodia. Three years later, she adopted Zahara from Ethiopia. In 2007, she added Pax from Vietnam to her family.

Jolie has three biological children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. They welcomed their firstborn Shiloh in 2016 and twins Knox Leon and Viviene Marcheline in 2008.

Jolie treats all her children the same regardless if she conceived them or not. She is very careful when speaking with her adopted kids.

“Each is a beautiful way of becoming a family. What is important is to speak with openness about all of it and to share. ‘Adoption’ and ‘orphanage’ are positive words in our home,” Jolie told Harper’s Bazaar.

“With my adopted children, I can’t speak of pregnancy, but I speak with much detail and love about the journey to find them and what it was like to look in their eyes for the first time.”

Jolie had no plans to adopt a baby from Vietnam

Meanwhile, in an interview with Vogue, Angelia Jolie confessed that she had no plans to adopt a baby from Vietnam. She was aware that Cambodia and Vietnam were once at war, and she didn’t want conflict.

Since her first adopted son, Maddox, was from Cambodia, she decided not to adopt someone from Cambodia.

“It’s true, I did think about that. I did originally think not to adopt from Vietnam because Mad was Cambodian and the two countries have a complex history,” Jolie explained.

However, she changed her mind after seeing an image of a Vietnamese fighter held captive by Americans. The photo moved her, and she decided to welcome a Vietnamese in her family, so she adopted Pax.

“I thought of my own country and our involvement in south-east Asia. I thought of focusing on a future where we were all family,” she added.

Jolie considered herself blessed to have the opportunity to be their mom.

“I am very blessed to have been allowed to be their mom. I am grateful every day.”
