Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have six children together. Following their split announcement, they went through a divorce and a bitter custody battle, which allegedly dramatically affected the Maleficent star’s weight.
Angelina Jolie has always been slim, but she reportedly lost weight amid her custody battle with ex-husband Brad Pitt. Their issue affected her appetite significantly.
“She’s barely 100 pounds right now, and nobody around her can remember the last time she ate a full meal.” a source told RadarOnline.com in January.
“Food’s the last thing on her mind and she’s getting by on just fruit, the occasional bite of protein and gallons of coffee to keep her energy levels up. What makes it so bad is she thinks this is healthy.”
Globe also claimed the same. According to the outlet, the custody battle made her increasingly unwell.
“The sight and smell of food seems to turn her stomach, which is in knots over her ongoing custody war with Brad,” the insider said.
The source also claimed that Jolie wasn’t happy with Brad Pitt’s blossoming friendship with his first ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
In 2018, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie came up with a custody agreement. The judge decided that the exes should share custody.
NW published another report and claimed that Jolie wasn’t happy with the ruling and starved herself as a form of protest.
In addition, her relationship with food allegedly remained problematic.
“She’s exhausted from single parenthood and a grueling traveling schedule, but worst of all, she still has a destructive relationship with food,” the insider said.
One should take those claims with a grain of salt. Most of the reports were published earlier this year, which was unlikely true because the exes already made a custody agreement two years ago.
Also, it is unlikely for Angelina Jolie to starve herself for that reason alone. The celebrity mom has always considered her children in her decision.
In fact, she underwent a double mastectomy to reduce her chances of breast cancer for her children. Jolie’s mom Marcheline Bertrand and grandmother both died from breast cancer.
Jolie doesn’t want her children to experience the same pain she endured after losing her mom due to the said disease. She wants to be well and healthy for them.
“I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer. It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable,” Jolie said.
