Angelina Jolie did not starve herself to prove her estranged husband Brad Pitt, contrary to what was reported by a tabloid a year ago.
Angelina Jolie has always maintained a slim frame. However, one outlet claimed last year that she starved herself to get attention amid her custody battle with Brad Pitt. Check out the truth.
Angelina Jolie starving herself rumor
Last year, Globe published a report claiming that Angelina Jolie was starving herself. She allegedly did it for attention amid her custody battle with Brad Pitt over their six children — Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and 12-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
Jolie and Pitt announced their split in 2016. It has been almost five years since they separated, but their divorce and custody battle is still ongoing.
The outlet quoted an anonymous insider claiming that Jolie “shriveled to a skeletal 90 pounds.” She was allegedly desperate to hurt Pitt because he hated it when she didn’t eat.
Pitt reportedly encouraged Jolie to take care of herself. So losing weight would be an insult to Pitt. The outlet also claimed that she was hurting for cash and had been skipping meals. Oftentimes, when she’s super stressed, the Changeling star would reportedly only grab a coffee and won’t eat at all.
Rumor debunked
Gossip Cop examined the report and debunked it. First, it noted that Globe has a long history of body shaming. It also targeted other celebrities, including Kelly Clarkson, whose friends allegedly urged her to go to a “fat farm.” It also previously claimed that Dolly Parton was “wasting away” on a 500-calorie a day diet.
Second, Jolie’s look hasn’t changed at all. She has always maintained her slim frame. So the claim that she starved herself to lose weight and get attention and insult Pitt was very unlikely.
Jolie posed with a swarm of bees
In related news, Angelina Jolie posed with a swarm of bees for National Geographic. The celebrity mom of six told the outlet that they used pheromone, and she didn’t shower for three days for the photoshoot.
Jolie said that they didn’t want to confuse the bees, which would likely happen with all the different scents from shampoos and perfumes. She also shared that they put a few things up her nose and ears to not give the insects as many holes to climb in. However, one managed to get under her dress.
The insect stayed under her skirt the whole time during the shoot. But when she lifted the shirt after the shoot, it just went away. Jolie made the shoot to support the conservation efforts.
