Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez will be facing off in the box office when their upcoming movies hit the theaters.
Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez are among the best actors in Hollywood. However, the two will be up against each other when their movies The Eternals and Marry Me debut because their release dates coincide, The News reported.
Angelina Jolie and the Eternals
Angelina Jolie has scored her first MCU movie in the superhero flick The Eternals. The new superhero group movie is a fresh start and will be different from The Avengers, where some characters bid goodbye in the Endgame. Unlike The Avengers, the new superheroes are immortals.
In The Avengers: Endgame, several superheroes died, including Robert Downey Jr.’s beloved Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. Johansson has scored her own spin-off but is gone for good in The Avengers. The Eternals will likely win the hearts of the MCU fans who love to see a group of superheroes fighting a villain.
“[They’re] a group of immortals who have been on Earth for 35,000 years. They’ve been there amongst the MCU,” said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con per Insider.
The Eternals was originally set for release on Nov. 6 but was moved to Feb. 10, 2021
Jennifer Lopez in Marry Me
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez will be starring in romantic comedy Marry Me, which is due for release on Feb. 12, 2021. Lopez plays the role of a musical superstar Kat Valdez, a woman who agrees to marry a total stranger, Charlie Gilbert (Owen Wilson), whom she meets at a concert and decides to get to know him later.
Marry Me also stars Game of Thrones star John Bradley, Sarah Silverman, and Columbian singer-actor Maluma. It will feature original songs from Lopez and Maluma.
Lopez and Jolie updates
Jennifer Lopez is gearing up for her upcoming wedding to Alex Rodriguez. According to one tabloid, the Jenny from the Block singer is in the mood of celebrating. Lopez will reportedly spend $5 million for her upcoming wedding after they pushed it back due to the pandemic.
JLo and A-Rod will limit their number of guests. However, there will be no limits when it comes to food, design, and more.
On the other hand, Angelina Jolie is set to face her ex-husband Brad Pitt in court next month for a child custody trial. Jolie and Pitt have been amicable since 2018, but their legal battle becomes heated again when she requested to replace the judge overseeing their divorce.
Pitt asked the court to deny her petition because it will only delay the legal process. Meanwhile, Jolie insisted that she only wanted a fair trial because the judge allegedly did not inform her of his other business deals with Pitt’s lawyers.
