Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt both, allegedly, wanted to get rid of Chateau Miraval.
Just recently, tabloids were saying that Angelina Jolie and Pitt were fighting over who would keep the vineyard. Now, Globe claimed that this isn’t the case.
A source told the tabloid that Jolie and Pitt both want to get rid of the sprawling property because they don’t have any sentimental attachment to it.
Angelina Jolie wants to wash her hands of Chateau Miraval
Last month, Pitt took his rumored girlfriend, Nicole Poturalski to Chateau Miraval and sources claimed that Jolie was enraged. Globe’s source said that Pitt’s tacky and pathetic move encouraged Jolie to wash her hands of the place.
“Angie found it tacky and pathetic that he’d bring this new partner, who’s less than half his age, to a property they still co-own. I’m sure it gave her an extra reason to wash her hands of the place,” the source said.
Chateau Miraval doesn’t suit Brad Pitt’s sober lifestyle
Pitt doesn’t also want to keep Chateau Miraval because it no longer fits his new image. The Ad Astra star has also been sober for years so producing and selling wine doesn’t seem to fit his new lifestyle.
“It simply doesn’t make sense for him to be selling and advising a product he can’t even sample,” the source said.
Brangelina don’t have a sentimental attachment to their vineyard
In 2011, Angelina Jolie and Pitt shelled out $67 million to buy Chateau Miraval. Three years later, they also held their wedding there. But ever since their divorce in 2016, the A-listers have barely visited the property separately.
The wine business isn’t, allegedly, something that Jolie and Pitt have a sentimental attachment to. After all, they, allegedly, got into it because it came with the house.
“The product became a sensation in part due to Brad and Angelina’s romance, and that’s been dead for years. They both want to let it go. They have way bigger priorities in their lives,” the source said.
However, one should take the claims made by the tabloid with a grain of salt. If Pitt and Jolie both want to give up ownership of Chateau Miraval, they would’ve already settled it a long time ago.
The A-listers think they both deserve full ownership of Chateau Miraval
But just last year, Us Weekly claimed that the French estate is a particular sticking point in the exes’ divorce settlement negotiations. A source told the tabloid that Jolie thinks she should be given full ownership of the property because it was her idea to purchase it.
Pitt, on the other hand, thinks that he’s been generous with the other financial elements of their separation. As such, he thinks he should be given full ownership of Chateau Miraval.
Angelina Jolie and Pitt will see each other in court soon so more details about their divorce settlement will be released then.
