It’s not the first time that players will see different events and themes adapted into the Animal Crossing framework. Some players have made their renditions of the game, featuring movies, iconic characters, games, and TV series.
For months now, the game has added several updates, as well as consistently adding seasonal events to keep the players happy on their islands. Now and then, players will get seasonal-themed DIY recipes and furniture.
Nintendo has announced a series of events to celebrate the anniversary of Super Mario. Initially released in 1985, Super Mario has come a long way in terms of gameplay, narrative, and overall performance. The long-running game series has been loved by millions because of its classic and modern vibes.
Thus, to honor the game, Nintendo is going to release both old and new games, products, and in-game events. Fans will once again experience Mario’s three 3D platforming classics, namely, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Unfortunately, The Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection, which will release this September 18, will be removed from sale in March next year.
Other Super Mario games and product will also be available:
Doug Bowser, president of Nintendo America, shared his excitement on celebrating the game’s anniversary. He said:
“We look forward to everyone joining us on a Mario journey 35 years in the making. We are marking this significant milestone with a wide variety of games and experiences that all generations of Mario fans, from here to the Mushroom Kingdom, can enjoy together.”
The official Animal Crossing Twitter account has announced the crossover, and will ultimately arrive in March next year. However, there is no exact date as to when the update would arrive.
The crossover might not only feature Super Mario-themed furniture, but it might also be in the form of events. Fans are also speculating that the crossover might add DIY recipes as well.
Besides, previous Animal Crossing titles already featured several games of Nintendo, including The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, and Metroid. Particularly, Animal Crossing: New Leaf featured 50 Nintendo game titles, including Super Mario. Although Animal Crossing: New Horizons will solely focus on Mario alone.
Players are now getting the autumn vibe as Animal Crossing is slowly transitioning to the Fall season. Thus, players will be getting new content, including, cosmetic changes, new creatures, new fish, and bugs. However, Nintendo has not yet announced if the Fall update will have new events.
