‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Fall update goes live

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fall Update trailer snapshot

The fall season is officially upon us and with it is an official rollout of the Fall update—version 1.5—for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

As is true to the season in the real world, the Fall update in New Horizons brings changes to the ambiance. One particular change would be the alteration in the vegetation’s leaves. If they are not literally falling from the branch, they literally shift in color.

In prep for the Halloween event

But the environmental changes are partly what defines the Fall season. In other cases, this is a time of the year when the Halloween event occurs until the arrival of the All Hallow’s Day. As such, New Horizons will, for the first time, be kicking its Halloween event on Oct. 31, between 5 PM and 12 AM, regional time.

Yet, what better way to prepare for the Halloween than to start planting and growing pumpkins. You can bet your bottom dollar that this product will play a significant role during the event. Even when not for design, these bounties are bound to make up something worth having coming from the event.

Existing players in New Horizons would already know from the get-go where to source the seeds to begin the planting. If not, here’s a hint—this NPC is an anthropomorphic sloth and whose main merchandise are plants. Also, its name starts with the letter “L.”

Although Halloween is an event that usually kickstarts on its own as a tradition, in ACNH, a once-a-year NPC will make a special appearance for the occasion. Jack, or the Czar of Halloween, will make a re-appearance in New Horizon, similar to how he did in previous Animal Crossing titles. An almost ubiquitous presence during Halloween in the franchise, with the exception of Wild World.

Luna’s dream enhancement

As part of the latest patch, the game will now feature improvement over Luna’s dream islands. Particularly, by making venture to previously visited islands easier to re-access by adding them to “favorites”. Which is indeed substantially simpler than having to re-enter a dream code to visit a particular island again.

With that enhancement in mind, it gives players the chance to fully explore islands they previously did not cover in their entirety. An instance which they would otherwise not by potentially forgetting about the dream code specific to the landmass. In general, the update makes the journey across dream islands a more accessible option for its ease.
