Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched one of its biggest summer events for June, the wedding season. However, players have shown their discontent on the in-game event.
For months now, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has continued to keep the game alive and interesting through adding new game content. Furthermore, the game never fails to surprise players with new things to do on their island. It’s no wonder why millions of people have flocked to play the game.
What’s the wedding event all about
The month of June is the time of the year weddings are celebrated everywhere, and it’s being kept alive in the family-friendly game. The event featured the couple, Cyrus and Reese asking the help of the players to set up their photo op.
The task is fairly easy as players will just have to create a beautiful wedding scene and take the couple’s picture. The player can take as many pictures as they please but will have to make the last one the best picture. Once Reese approves of the picture, players will receive heart crystals and a wedding bench on the first day.
To get more rewards, players will have to travel back to Harv’s island to recreate the wedding scene again but new instructions from Reese. Thus, as players will receive different tasks every time they visit Harv’s island.
Players have shown discontent on the wedding event
Many players have raised their discontent on Animal Crossing: New Horizons wedding season event. One particular Reddit user, Devastas, posted a meme describing the game’s event as forgettable. The post contained a photo of the Reese and Cyrus soaked in the rain because no one came by to create their photo op. The caption reads,
“So excited for July, June just flew by!”
The image received thousands of upvotes and hundreds of comments. On top of that, players have used the post to raise their complaints about the game. Some players even mentioned that they did not participate in the wedding event at all. Others commented that they did not like visiting Harv’s island. Still, others did not like repeating trips to Harv’s island.
However, other players stated that they did not hate the event and were even thankful for the rewards. Others did not find the wedding-themed candles and benches useful. Moreover, some fans posted their discontent on Twitter.
I mean, I do love animal crossing but my interest starts to fade 🙁 I only do the bare minimum everyday, the wedding event is kinda boring and I want to redo my whole island but I just can't find the motivation since I'm finally satisfied with my island :// pic.twitter.com/hwS8FG5EQA
