The latest Apex Legends patch update is bringing a lot to the table. Respawn buffed and nerfed some legends while weapons are adjusted as well.
Every season, Respawn releases a mid-season Apex Legends patch update. This irons out any hiccups found during the first half of the season.
The most significant change this season is cross-play beta and some legend changes. However, there are quality-of-life (QoL) updates that change how players interact with the game.
Better user experience in this update
There are a lot of changes added to the game during this update. The first one goes to the Evo Shield Loot Prompt.
Players may now see the shield damage accumulated. A small symbol is now present to see if the current shield is better than the looted shield.
If an armor has lower health, players may opt to shield swap if the lower armor is closer to evolving at the same level than the equipped.
Teammate communication is better as well due to the added item indicator. This tells if an item is needed by a teammate without them pinging.
A Performance Display is included in the settings menu. This shows the FPS, Latency, Packet Loss, Choke, and the player’s network In/Out. It helps players determine the network problem that they are experiencing.
Another Crypto buff hidden in the QoL changes is the added banners scattered around World’s Edge map. It gives more options to determine if there are nearby squads.
Out of Bounds timer no longer refreshes if a player moves to an area. It continues until a player is clearly inside the map.
Other changes are minimal such as the Anonymous mode, which hides a player’s name in the kill feed.
The complete list of changes is found in the latest Apex Legends patch update blog.
