Respawn introduced the lore of different characters in Apex Legends through its season quests. However, the developers partnered with Dark Horse Books in creating a lore-book about the Legend Pathfinder.
The Apex Legends lore book will have 190 pages. It will be titled as “Pathfinder’s Quest.” The upcoming book will talk about the MRVN robot’s history, but with a twist.
Instead of the usual narration, Pathfinder will be interviewing other in-game Legends. Through this interview, players will learn of his past and its relation to other legends.
Coming up this December: Apex Legends: Pathfinder's Quest, a new lore book expands on the backstory of the popular battle royale video game from the point of view of Pathfinder. More: https://t.co/VZ41X8DBkk

Finding Pathfinder’s creator
The book’s main theme is Pathfinder and his search for his creator. There are several voice lines inside the battle-royale that talk about this theme. It is nice to see that finally might uncover his past this time.
According to Dark Horse, “fans will be able to explore the world of the hit game through the eyes of the lovable robot, Pathfinder.”
The publisher added that the book will talk about the robot’s journey throughout the Outlands. It will drop by and meet several legends in order to track his creator.
“In Apex Legends: Pathfinder’s Quest, the rich history of Apex Legends is explained by the characters that helped to shape it, as are their unique bonds of competition and camaraderie,” said Dark Horse.
Launching date and price
The upcoming book will be available for everyone on December 1. There is a pre-order page on Amazon. The hardback version is listed for US$39.99[AU$55.70]. It will also be available on Kindle for only US$23.99[AU$33.42].
Apex Legends lore may follow soon
The upcoming Pathfinder’s Quest book might be followed by the story of other Legends. However, there is no confirmation about this yet.
It is worth considering though that Pathfinder’s story is already a good start. The other Legends may follow suit depending on the reception of this book.
Respawn has injected lore stories through videos called “Stories from the Outlands.” These short animated stories started in Season 2 when Wattson was introduced.
Every season after, there is an animated video telling the story of each legend. So far, there are five legend stories. Wattson, Wraith, Crypto, Bloodhound, and Loba have their own short film. Revenant’s story was introduced in the season 4 launch trailer.
Respawn telling stories through quests
Fans should not worry if Pathfinder is the only one with a lore book. Respawn has already introduced ‘Quests’ into the game.
The very first quests called “The Broken Ghosts.” It is a playable storybook where Loba searches for nine artifacts. It concluded with a tease on what is coming next.
Apex Legends season 6 is fast approaching as well. Rumors have said that it might feature Bangalore’s story.
The quests have garnered positive feedback so far. But with some criticisms as well. Players have commented that the quest is a great way to introduce the lore into the game. The experience also makes it better as players need to uncover the story on their own.
On the other hand, some criticized the quests as a lazy attempt to tell a story. It is mainly due to the lack of voice acting that players concluded this. Some have said that the experience would have been better if voice actors were tapped for the role.
Apex Legends is currently on a roll with new features being introduced. However, it needs something new to spark the magic it had upon launch.
