With the growing popularity of augmented reality, the following year might witness the reveal of the first Apple AR Headset, as per the latest reports.
If the recent data from Kuo is anything to go by, then it might reveal Apple AR Headset in the second quarter of 2022.
Apple AR Headset details so far
According to the report from Kuo, the iPhone maker is planning to release its first AR headset next year.
Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the augmented reality product will make its way in the second quarter of 2022.
Furthermore, it says that Apple’s supplier Genius Electronic Optical may produce it. Also that it will get more profit from other companies as well such as Facebook and Sony.
“We predict that Apple will launch AR HMD [head-mounted display] devices in 2Q22. The device will provide a video see-through AR experience, so the lens is also needed, and Genius is also a key supplier.”
For a long time, the iPhone maker is rumored to be working on its AR-based headsets. Speculations also state that they will have “mixed-reality” functionality.
Moreover, a sleeker version of Apple AR headsets is expected to release in 2025.
Previously, Kuo predicted that the device would debut at some point in 2021. But that didn’t happen, and then the analyst pushed back the possibility to “mid-2022”.
Interestingly, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also predicted in March that the Apple AR headset would launch this year. However, things didn’t turn out as expected, especially after the reveal of the WWDC presentation on Monday.
