Apple admitted that it is expecting massive growth in its sales this holiday quarter compared to the same period from the previous year.
Apple just released the iPhone 12 series. The iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro first hit the shelves. The iPhone 12 Mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max will not be available for preorder until November 6.
Currently, the reported demand for the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro has been smashing projections. As such, the same is expected from the two other new phones. The same story applies to the rest of the products from Apple.
In fact, Apple says that it will even break its sales record from the previous year despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Apple sales to be boosted during the holiday quarter
For many years now, Apple has been secretive of its sales figures. It only discloses an indication of whether a particular quarter is good or not. As such, only estimates are available for the public to see.
This year, many companies were hit by the COVID-19 pandemic negatively. Fortunately for Apple, the virus didn’t have the same effect on its sales figures. On the contrary, Apple even saw growth during the decline months of its competitors. The same is projected to happen during the holiday quarter and the first quarter of 2021.
Apple CFO Luka Maestri gave a broad perspective on what will happen in the next two quarters. He projects that growth will be up to double-digit figures compared to the previous year’s number.
9to5Mac shares that Apple’s holiday quarter revenue from the previous year was US$91.8 billion. The iPhone sales take the lion share with more than 50% of the figure coming from it. The wearables and the services share an almost similar number in terms of the total revenue split.
Four iPhones will boost the numbers even more
Tim Cook is positive that the numbers from the company will really beat previous figures. He attributes this mostly because of the first time ever that Apple launched four new phones in one go. He said,
“For the first time ever, we’ve launched four iPhones, and there’s an iPhone for everyone there. It’s the strongest iPhone lineup we’ve ever had by far. I look at the initial data points that we’ve got on iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, we are off to a great start.”
The iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 12 Mini are two polar opposite phones. The former is the most stacked smartphone from Apple with the biggest screen. On the flip side, the iPhone 12 Mini is Apple’s smallest flagship phone to date. Both phones are expected to cater to different markets.
