Apple is expected to launch a series of new products this year, including the rumored iPhone 12. The upcoming series will have essential upgrades compare to previous flagships.
The new products include the iPhone 12, a new and enhanced Apple TV, an improved Apple Watch that can track your sleep, and other gadgets. The company is still keeping silent, but they may also have some new accessories in store, like Bluetooth tags that help you find lost items with your iPhone and a wireless charging mat.
The year 2020 has already been eventful for Apple as a company in general. For the record, they launched a new iPad Pro with sensors for augmented reality and a new iPhone SE this year. If the rumors and reports are to be accurate, Apple has a lot more in its pipeline, including its first-ever 5G-enabled iPhones, which are expected to come in the fall.
Essential Upgrades to the Upcoming iPhone 12
According to MacRumors, the upcoming iPhone 12 will feature new “high-end” lenses manufactured by a well-known Taiwanese company, Largan Precision. Reports about the new lenses and the latest specifications have still not been confirmed by Apple, but making specific notes of their high-end formulation suggests something of an upgrade over their iPhone 11 counterparts.
Camera lens features such as sharpness, brightness, control of flares, contrast, vignetting, and distortion is said to be upgraded for the Apple iPhone 12 compared to the iPhone 11 series. The new Ultra-wide or ultra-telephoto lenses would also qualify as high-end optics due to the added difficulty in creating lenses at the extreme ends of the camera’s zoom range. What great news for people who do phone photography, isn’t it?
iPhone 12 will revert to iPhone 4 design feature but with much more features
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo published a report saying: “The metal frame and the front and rear 2/2.5D glass are still used, but the metal frame surface will be changed to a similar design to the iPhone 4, replacing the current surface design.”
Analyst Kuo also said that Apple is developing an in-display fingerprint authentication technology that operates much like the solutions we’ve seen implemented by other companies like Samsung, OnePlus and Huawei. It would probably be a Touch ID-branded feature that would work alongside the Face ID feature. This upgrade will allow users to bypass their device’s lock screen and process payments more efficiently.
Typically, Apple holds its iPhone event in the second week of September and generally on a Tuesday. However, we cannot expect the iPhone 12 to be announced in September this year due to the current global situation. Rumors suggest that its on-street availability will either be delayed or restricted.
