It’s already a known fact, but now it’s official as well. Apple Watch is dominating the smartwatch market with a growing user base.
Latest reports have revealed that there are now over 100 million active Apple Watch users across the globe.
Apple Watch, the best watch indeed!
Since its maiden launch a few years ago, the now-iconic Watch has maintained its lead over the competitors.
In the second quarter of this year, Apple Watch grew by 20% on a year-to-year basis.
However, Apple did lose a major share in the smartwatch market, moving into Q2 of 2021. It’s due to the increasing competition from Chinese and also certain Indian brands. Counterpoint Research shared this information.
But on the whole, Apple Watch has eventually crossed the 100 million mark in terms of active users.
Sujeong Lim, the Counterpoint Research analyst, mentioned that the Watch is witnessing growing attach rates because the brand is rising consistently in appeal and health features.
In June, it went past 100 million consumers for the first time.
As far as the rivals are concerned, brands such as Samsung and Garmin are also growing rapidly. Both of them managed an increase of 43 percent and 62 percent year-over-year, respectively.
But again, as per Counterpoint Research, Apple Watch Series 6 was the best-selling watch in terms of global sales. Furthermore, the SE model also shined, followed by Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2, Watch Series 3, and Imoo Z6-4G.
As far as regions are concerned, North America was the largest smartwatch market in the world. Then comes China, also growing each year. However, the rate has been slower than expected.
India’s share also grew from two to six percent between Q2 2020 and Q2 2021.
