Rumors surrounding the most awaited launch of Apple’s iPhone 12 lineup tell us that it will be launched at different stages.
The iPhone 12 will be launched by the fall, according to various rumors surrounding the latest iPhone lineup and is based on some well-known leakers and tipsters. Given the current global health crisis which has halted and delayed some of the company’s development and launches, it strongly suggests that the much-awaited new version of the iPhone is just around the corner.
DigiTimes suggests that Apple might launch the ‘iPhone 12’ lineup in multiple ways. We can expect an iPhone 12 one or two per launch. The reason behind this is due to the current pandemic that is causing supply and manufacturing delays.
Which will come first?
The two 6.1-inch phone models may launch first by fall. It will then be followed by 6.7 to 5.4-inch phones afterward. Manufacturing issues have been the main culprit in the delays for some of the major smartphone makers, including Apple, which is why this year’s launch has made a big difference from the timing that usually takes place in September down to the phones’ lineup.
The prices might surprise you
One tech expert says that the iPhone 12 lineup might be cheaper than the iPhone 11. The forecast is rooted in the past pricing Apple has been setting for the past two years. The price of a 2018 iPhone XR is much more expensive than an iPhone 11 when it was launched last year with a $699 price tag cheaper by $50.
For the 2020 iPhone 12 lineup. This trend seems to continue. According to a tweet from Jon Prosser, his sources say that the price of the iPhone 12 lineup will be as follows:
-5.4 iPhone 12 D52G
OLED/5G
2 cam
$649
– 6.1 iPhone 12 D53G
OLED/5G
2 cams
$749
-6.1 Pro D53P
OLED/5G
3 cams and 0 LiDAR
$999
-6.7 Pro Max D54P
OLED/5G
3 cams and 0 LiDAR
$1099
These are based on Prosser’s tweet last April.
No Wired Earpods?
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple may not include wired earpods into iPhone 12’s box. This is to encourage buyers to purchase second-generation AirPods and, of course, to boost its sales this holiday season.
The AirPods and its AirPods Pro are both priced at $149 and $249, respectively. This would be a notable move Apple has made.
Aside from not having wired earpods, there is also a rumor that the iPhone 12 boxes will not include the adapter. This is part of the cost management Apple is currently doing, foregoing this item will save them from freight costs as the box of the device will also shrink.
