Apple is going through a terrific phase right now. It’s every major product and witnessing a rise in sales. The latest one to join the wave is Mac.
A new report reveals that the Mac saw a significant increase of 115 percent, in its sales, in the first quarter of 2021.
This figure is much higher than a similar period last year.
Apple’s Mac area is growing!
The latest report from IDC shows that apart from a mammoth rise, the Mac also gained an 8.1 percent jump in market share. It had increased from Q1 of 2020 when it was only 5.8 percent.
Despite a massive leap in its share, the Apple product is still behind the significant three market share: Lenovo, HP, and Dell.
But the current growth is remarkable, especially amid a global pandemic!
While sharing the report, IDC’s research manager Jitesh Ubrani mentioned that the overall PC market had gained momentum lately.
However, it might get a halt in the flowing performance due to the ongoing worldwide chip shortage.
“The market continues to struggle with setbacks including component shortages and logistics issues, each of which has contributed to an increase in average selling prices.”
Furthermore, program vice president with IDC’s Worldwide Mobile Device Trackers, Ryan Reith, said the current demand has been unexpected.
He mentioned that “all three segments – business, education, and consumer – are experiencing demand that we didn’t expect to happen.”

Upcoming reveals and announcements
Despite the shortage and an ongoing pandemic, the California tech giant is still moving comfortably with its 2021 plans.
The release of some devices like the iPad Pro has witnessed a slight delay due to the current shortage.
The company will try to keep up with the anticipation of many tech enthusiasts.
Speaking of what’s coming this year, then so far, there’s been no official word from Tim Cook and his team.
However, new speculations are pointing towards an Apple event before this month’s end.
Previously, AirTags and AirPods Studio were the top contenders among rumored launches. Now, they might arrive in the coming months.
The only announced event as of now is the 2021 WWDC. It will happen in a virtual format, akin to 2020, from June seven to eleven. Its main attraction will be the next major software version, iOS 15.
Moreover, a brand new MacBook Pro and iMac are also rumored to be introduced later this year.
