Arkane Studios have talked about their new release that can be another FPS!
Recently, Bethesda’s Todd Howard shared new updates about the status of their upcoming shooter. It was revealed that Arkane Studios has trouble finding a matchmaker and is now looking for any developers that might be interested in working on the next iteration of Quake.
Although this sounds like an open invitation to anyone who wishes to approach Arkane Studios with their skills, there are clearly some guidelines about what is expected as far as experience and prior work go. Howard explained the company’s current situation.
How is the team looking forward to its expansion?
Also, the team is looking towards a better connection and leading the initiative from the developers so that it becomes easier for the whole team to come up with more compelling ideas later on.
“We have an awesome team with a good idea, and it’s just that we can’t find any more talented people. So I’m looking for help from the industry. If you know anyone, please let me know.” This is also a great opportunity for developers that wish to work on the next iteration of Quake.
After announcing this news, a number of industry professionals showed their support for the studio with their interest to be a part of the next project!
Raph Koster (creative director at Firaxis) noticed the video post and shared his thoughts. There are a lot of AAA titles that are being used for the gaming Studio, but the team is looking forward to a better project and a new FPS game.
Is there going to be more sequels?
While Howard and some members of the Arkane team have expressed interest in working on such a project, the studio has not yet established an official statement.
It is not known how far the cooperation between Bethesda Game Studios and Arkane Studios has gone or what has been discussed so far. Arkane Studios have been busy lately with the recent Deathloop, and the team is looking out for a new project as well.
It is also unclear at this point whether the shooter that is being developed in-house by Arkane Studios is an update to the Quake series, a reboot of the franchise, or even a sequel. What players do know is that the team has had their hands full with making their own game.
In light of the above news, Quake Champions might still be on track for a release later this year, but it seems more likely that we will see a delay.
