Ashley Graham gave prominence to her return to the runway at Milan Fashion Week.
The American supermodel Ashley Graham makes a comeback as she appeared during the Milan Fashion Week for Fendi, held in Italy.
The runway show marks Graham’s debut with Fendi and her second time for the Milan fashion show representing a plus-size model. Last season, Paloma Elsesser and Jill Kortleve debuted in the show.
On the runway, the supermodel sported a black and white sheer-wrap dress and a slip underneath, while flaunting off a minimal makeup. The exhibit is a part of Fendi’s Spring 2021 collection, which includes easy silhouettes gowns and sheer chiffons.
The clothes featured focus on powder blue, black, white, and a few red shades color palettes.
The latter had Graham slain the ramp in a blue silk Etro gown.
Moreover, Graham shared the priceless moment on her Instagram account by writing: “Woke up in a Fendi dream, thank you for having me, and congratulations on such gorgeous collection! It has been a difficult year for everyone, and I’m so impressed by the fashion industry’s resilience and quick adapting”.

She continued to thank everyone that helped her to get back on the runway. Also, the model expressed her gratefulness to the show’s organizers for pulling off a socially-distanced fashion show event in the middle of a pandemic.
From New York to Milan
In January, Graham gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Issac, whom she shares with her husband, Justin Ervin. The couple spent their quarantine in their Nebraska farmhouse and returned to New York earlier this week, then flew to Milan.
Describing this year’s cast for the runway show, designer Silvia Venturini Fendi says she wanted to represent all of the household ensemble: sisters, mother, and son, father, and son, different ages, body shapes. She further described it as an appreciation of family values and bonds.
Ashley Graham in body positivity and self-love
The plus-size model is well known for promoting body positivity. Recently, while speaking to Marie Claire, Graham referred to all mothers as superheroes.
Further talking about gaining weight and stretch marks during her pregnancy, she shared it made her reimagine her relationship with her body. She stated that changes made her feel devastated, but it all felt worth it after meeting Issac.
Virtual and socially-distanced shows
Along with the diverse company of models, a handful of celebrities and fashion icons attended the show. The socially-distanced front row included celebrities like Rita Ora, Kim Jones, Normal People star Paul Mescal, etc.
This year’s Fendi Spring/Summer Collection is the first to hold a live runway show as most top labels chose to go virtual.
