Ubisoft is taking things a step further with the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Like Naughty Dog and other developers, Ubisoft also wants to ensure that more people can enjoy the upcoming title.
Earlier this year, Naughty Dog set the standards for accessibility in gaming with what it had for The Last of Us 2. Other developers, including Team9 for Overcooked, followed suit. Now, Ubisoft is doing the same thing by adding an assortment of gameplay accessibility options for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Accessibility options detailed
For the game, the accessibility options cater to make the title much easier to play. It also helps users play the game they want to. Ubisoft has got the basics down. For instance, players on consoles can remap their controls for keyboard and mouse settings. There’s a wide selection of settings, including vibration intensity, toggle/hold inputs, and much more.
In terms of difficulty, Ubisoft has included various difficulty levels for each aspect of the game. Battles have four settings, stealth and exploration have three. This will allow players to enjoy the game at their own pace. Those who have issues with assassinations can even activate what’s called a Guaranteed Assassinate, which bypasses the level of a target.
Other crucial accessibility features
Like Naughty Dog before it, Ubisoft will also add accessibility features that let those with disabilities enjoy Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
The HUD mostly has the features for those with visual issues. There are colorblind modes in the game, as well as menu narration, which helps users get through the menu even if they can’t see it. What’s better is that the narration’s pace and volume can be adjusted as well.
There’s also obstacle collision for blind players. Basically, this will alert players if they are stuck on something in the game’s world. Essentially, this feature will help Ubisoft reach its goal of making the game playable by just about anyone.
There are a ton of other accessibility features for the game. A lot of people are currently impressed with the inclusivity in the game. It would be exciting to see how everyone reacts to the feature when the game launches.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches on Nov. 10, the same day as the PlayStation 5. This Viking adventure will be the next evolution of the acclaimed Assassin’s Creed series. Fans have high hopes for the game. With this news, we can at least surmise that more people can enjoy the entry.
