‘Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’ release date finally announced

Assassin's Creed Valhalla release date finally announced

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla release date leaked when an unreleased trailer went up. Yesterday, Ubisoft confirmed the game’s arrival date.

Ubisoft Forward event was held last July 12. During the event, the company announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will arrive on November 17, 2020.

The date is not new for those who are keeping an eye on leaks. An Instagram post surfaced with the date reveal in the end. However, it was only now that Ubisoft affirmed the release date on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia.

Riding the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla hype train

With the release date in mind, it is expected that there will be more official trailers popping out soon. There was a 30-minute gameplay footage leak back then. But, it is better to wait for official releases.

However, the leaked footage has confirmed a lot of stuff going into the game. Here are some of it.

1. Great story mission

The gameplay leak revealed the main storyline of the game. It showcases the adventures of Eivor, the game’s protagonist. The leak showed Eivor capture enemy territory.

Basing on the leak itself, the main quest is in-depth. But, it is still unclear if it has the same depth as The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt.

The footage also revealed the decision making aspect of the game. It is a neat feature added as it immerses the player into the game’s world.

2. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla combat mechanics

Players who have gone through Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will find themselves familiar with the combat mechanic in Valhalla.

Defeating enemies is not just about button-smashing. Players may rely on several combat aspects such as archery, power-ups, and several melee abilities.

Another thing is the level-up mechanics. It is revealed via the footage that every town has a suggested power-level. It means that a certain power level is needed in order to take on missions on certain parts of the map.

3. An excellent RPG skill system

Role-playing games always have a feature that allows users to tailor their experience. It is still present in Valhalla.

There are several skill trees in the game allowing players to pick the path they want to take. Each skill tree is represented by an animal. The following power-ups are the Bear, Rave, Wolf. Other skills are unlocked as the game progresses.

Valhalla removed the leveling up feature though. Instead, it introduces a global power level. This depends on the skills unlocked.

4. In-game customization

Customizability is also present in-game. Players have the option to upgrade several items such as armors and weapons.

Inventory is just okay with eight slots. It is enough for weapons, armors, and replenishment items.

The edible items include berries and mushrooms. These items are used to quickly replenish health instead of waiting for passive heals.

This mechanic implies that in-game combat might take longer.

5. Variety of mini-games included

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a lot of side quests included. Besides that, there are mini-games located throughout the map.

These mini-games give a quick break from the tiring main quest. It includes hunting for legendary animals or fighting world bosses.

There is also the “Drengr” warriors who are considered as the elite warriors in the Valhalla world.

Ubisoft included Viking drinking contests and classic “flyting.” It is an insult battle between two parties. The developers nailed the Viking throwback with these two games. Fishing is also allowed in-game.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is one of the most anticipated games this year alongside Cyberpunk 2077. The game is already gaining traction months before its release.
