While the ASUS ROG Phone 3’s newest renders have a familiar design, the handset still packs a few notable modifications on the outside.
We’re barely a week away from the eventual unveiling of the ASUS ROG Phone 3, and as if on cue, its leaks and renders are now popping up nonstop.
The latest to surface from the grapevine is from Ishan Agarwal, who blessed us with another look of the upcoming, third-generation ROG Phone. This time around, the phone is showcased in virtually all of its angles.
New triple-camera setup on the rear
Via 91Mobiles, the renders of the gaming smartphone, showed a Republic of Gamers logo on its rear. The back is also adorned with RGB lighting, akin to what we’ve already seen on its predecessor.
Unlike the ROG Phone II, though, the next-generation ROG Phone will be launching with a triple-camera setup on the back panel. The renders confirmed the placement of the camera system, which is still aligned horizontally.
Meanwhile, the leaked renders confirmed the power’s positioning, alongside the volume and trigger buttons of the device. On the other hand, the device’s left side showed its SIM tray, plus ASUS’ proprietary port for charging and the use of other key accessories.
Another noted tipster, Evan Blass, also shared a set of images, which give us a more colorful look on the forthcoming phone. In the images, the ROG logo is glowing like the one on ROG Phone II’s. The images also corroborated that handset’s rear triple-camera setup.
ROG Phone 3: Snapdragon 865+ with up to 16GB of RAM
Right this time, the cat is already out of the bag that the phone will arrive with beastly specifications inside. But only to keep you in the loop of things, the ROG Phone 3 is set to be powered by the newly-minted flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 865+ SoC.
Qualcomm claims that its new chip delivers a 10% higher gaming performance than the Snapdragon 865. The premium 7nm chipset is also expected to be coupled with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
On the front, the ROG Phone 3 could also feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen, with a high 144Hz refresh rate.
Other crucial features that could debut with the device are 64MP primary camera, an enormous 6,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast wired charging, and an in-display fingerprint reader.
The ASUS ROG Phone 3 is scheduled to be unveiled on July 22. It will be one of the two phones which will feature the Snapdragon 865+ chip first, the other one being the Lenovo Legion gaming smartphone.
