After weeks of endless leaks and speculations, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 has finally gone official. ASUS has truly upped its ante on the mobile gaming niche as it equipped the phone with an impressive list of modern features and upgrades.

144Hz AMOLED with 64MP-headlining rear triple-camera system

Right off the bat, the ROG Phone 3 is already a powerhouse in the display department. It features a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, alongside a high refresh rate of 144Hz.

Additionally, the phone’s display is HDR10+-compliant and features an equally high 270Hz touch sampling rate. The screen is also TÜV Low Blue Light-certified.

On its rear, the ROG Phone 3 still sports a LED-lit ROG logo, which lights up during gaming. The new addition on the back panel of the device is another sensor in its now-triple-camera setup.

The rear camera system is headlined by a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor and is backed by a 13MP ultrawide lens and a macro camera. For selfies, the notch-less screen houses a large 24MP snapper.

ROG Phone 3: Snapdragon 865+ and 6,000mAh battery

As you’d expect from the renowned mobile gaming series, the ROG Phone 3 is still a gold standard relative to its internals. The phone is powered by the new Snapdragon 865+ chip, which offers a 10% increase in CPU and GPU speeds. It also brings 5G connectivity to the smartphone, thanks to the inclusion of a Snapdragon X52 external 5G modem.

Meanwhile, the device is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM as well as 512GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. Alternatively, users can opt for 8GB and 12GB RAM variants. The phone is also listed with an enormous 6,000mAh battery, with support for 30W fast wired charging.

Still a powerhouse in the add-ons department

It is in the mobile gaming add-ons and miscellany where the ROG Phone 3 blows the competition away. ASUS has rendered the device with a slew of generous features that should delight the modern gamers.

These include the ultrasonic sensors for AirTrigger 3, grip press, dual 7-magnet front-facing speakers, dual NXP TFA9874 amplifiers, and Hi-Res audio output.

ASUS also revealed a list of cool-looking gaming accessories for the handset. Some of these are the Kunai 3 gamepad, Aeroactive Cooler 3, and ROG Cetra RGB in-ear gaming headphones.

The smartphone also features an in-display fingerprint reader and runs on ROG UI based on the latest Android 10.

The ROG Phone 3 features a starting price tag of EUR 799 for its Snapdragon 865 and 8GB/256GB variant.
