The ASUS ROG Phone 3 could just be around the corner waiting to be unveiled.
ASUS’s forthcoming, hugely-anticipated mobile gaming refresh from its iconic ROG Phone series has finally received its Bluetooth SIG certification, signaling its imminent release.
The phone was also previously certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance and EEC. Additionally, the gaming handset was spotted in benchmark databases.
A massive 5,800mAh battery
At the helm is its visit on TENAA’s database. According to its listing, the ROG Phone 3 is scheduled to pack a massive 5,800mAh battery (with a typical value of 6,000mAh), with support for 30W fast wired charging.
While the phone’s battery is without a doubt massive even in the ROG Phone series’ standards, such an inclusion also indicates that the phone will come with a disadvantage, one that might not fare well with users who appreciate mobility.
The listing revealed that the handset would weigh a staggering 240 grams.
Rear triple cameras and Tencent-backed version
The accompanying image in TENAA showed that the ROG Phone 3 should launch almost as identical to ROG Phone 2. Perhaps the most glaring modification we’re seeing is the triple-camera setup that is mounted on its rear. Rumor has it that a 64MP camera module would be headlining.
The ROG logo on its back panel is also making a comeback, all complete with RGB backlighting. The company is also gearing up another Tencent-branded version of the ROG Phone 3, as evidenced by recently leaked images of the phone.
Powerful internals
The third-generation gaming smartphone is also slated to deliver godly internals. Speculations suggest that the phone would launch with an overclocked Snapdragon 865 chipset. This makes the phone the most powerful in the 2020 flagship segment.
The handset is also tipped to come with a maximum of 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage onboard.
AMOLED screen with 144Hz refresh rate
The ASUS ROG Phone 3 could also be built around a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. Also, there’s talk of including Corning Gorilla Glass, HDR10+, and 144Hz refresh rate.
Other key specifications associated with the phone are its in-display fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 5.1, 3.5mm headphone jack, and stereo speakers with two dedicated amplifiers.
The ROG Phone 3 is set to debut in July 2020, alongside the ASUS ZenFone 7.
