The ASUS ROG Phone 3 is set to be announced alongside the Lenovo Legion Phone, with the ZenFone 7 expected to follow suit.
ASUS has confirmed that the ROG Phone 3 is now set to be unveiled on July 22 in India. The launching on the said date will also serve as its global announcement. This is nothing new for those who are following the development of the third-generation ROG Phone, as the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer already announced it earlier this month.
Also confirmed is how the ROG Phone 3 will be announced. The phone is headed to be launched via an online event, which will be streamed live on ASUS India’s YouTube channel, starting at 8:15 PM IST. The smartphone is also scheduled to be sold through Flipkart.
Snapdragon 865+ chip with up to 12GB of RAM
On the other hand, ASUS is still mum about the upcoming mobile phone’s key features and specifications. Except, of course, when the firm confirmed that the handset would arrive with the newly-minted Snapdragon 865+ SoC. The device is slated to become one of the chipset pioneers other than the Lenovo Legion phone, which is also confirmed to be announced on the same date.
The ASUS ROG Phone 3 has also paid its visit on TENAA, confirming some of the previous rumors surrounding its specs in the segment. We now know that the phone would ship with Android 10 and would up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
6.59-inch AMOLED with 144Hz refresh rate
In its display front, the ROG Phone 3 is tipped to be built around a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution. The phone’s display is also pegged to employ an ultra 144Hz refresh rate, with a fingerprint reader underneath.
The next mobile gaming powerhouse is also speculated to feature four cameras and support for dual-mode 5G (SA/NSA). The phone could also be listed with a massive 5,800mAh battery. There is no word yet regarding its support for fast charging, but rumors are rife that it could launch with 30W fast charging.
ASUS ZenFone 7 also in the works
With these in tow, it is more than apparent that ASUS is still determined to continue its tradition of offering the most powerful hardware in the mobile gaming niche. And with the release of the ROG Phone 3, we can only be sure that that the series’ legacy is already cemented.
Apart from the ROG Phone 3, ASUS is also expected to announce another flagship entry in its portfolio – the ZenFone 7. Unlike the former, however, this one doesn’t have a definitive launch date yet.
