Your friendly neighborhood will finally swing his way into the NFT realm.
Marvel Entertainment, in partnership with Orbis Blockchain Technologies, will mint their first-ever Spider-man NFTs.
Marvel said that starting this week, Spidey fans may start picking their desired Spider-Man NFTs and have an opportunity to interact with five unique digital statues.
“The Spider-Man series drop is the first of many digital statues, digital comic books, and other digital collectibles in VeVe’s Marvel Month initiative,” Marvel said.
More NFTs to come
Marvel also said that while the new Spider-man NFTs are truly captivating, this unveiling will just be the beginning of more exciting Marvel-powered NFTs in the future.
One of the upcoming NFTs is the “Marvel Comic Issue #1 from 1939.” According to Marvel, each of the versions that will be released will have a different level of rarity.
Another soon-to-be-released NFTs are the “Super-D figures,” where each one would also have different types of a rarity in them.
Legendary Superhero
The response for the Spider-man NFT release is expected to be huge and overwhelming. The web-slinging hero has dominated comics, TV, and movies and was (and is still) well-loved by millions of people all over the globe.
Dan Buckley, president of Marvel Entertainment, said that the studio can’t wait to bring its strong fan base in the immersive world of NFTs, where the heroes they loved are given a new, NFT treatment.
DC Comics, Marvel’s long-time rival, is also set to release its own NFTs. With its long list of legendary heroes under its belt, DC is also expected to make a big splash in the world of NFTs.
