Ateez defeated famous K-pop artists with Deja Vu, including BLACKPINK Lisa and Wonho.
Ateez just won their first music event for their song Deja Vu, and they and Atinys (Ateez’s fanbase) are overjoyed.
Music events are aired throughout the nation and provide a platform for K-pop singers to perform their freshly released songs.
The new EP is making waves
Specific criteria, such as sales and digital points, are tallied by the music programs, and the ones with the highest score win that week. This encourages amicable competition.
Ateez launched their third EP, Fever Part 3, on September 13 and have been promoting it on music shows since then.
On September 22, they were nominated for the music show Show Champion with Lisa from Blackpink, STAYC, Wonho, and Lee Hi.
STAYC has been dubbed monster rookies for their latest album Stereotype and their winning streak, alongside Lisa, Wonho, and Lee Hi, who are all seasoned idols. This enhanced the competition’s ferocity since no one could predict who would win.
Ateez wins their first music competition
MBC’s Show Champion presenter Kangmin of Verivery announced Ateez as the winner at the show’s end. This is their sixth win overall, and they are first in the Deja Vu phase.
Ateez won their first music competition in 2019 with the summer hit Wave. The wave got two wins, Inception received two wins, and Fireworks received one win in 2020.
Deja Vu’s OT8 triumph is all the more important since it’s from their eighth album, and it’s Mingi’s first OT8 victory of the year. Eight people make up the organization, and their slogan is Eight Makes One Team.
Furthermore, the win comes after Billboard revealed that Ateez had entered seven of their charts, including the prestigious Billboard 200.
To spread the news, Atinys used hashtags like #DejaVu1stWin, #ATEEZ6thWin, and #CongratsAteez.
They liked the encore performance because Deja Vu has an epic instrumental, and the lads singing live without any backing vocals delighted Atinys. The latter felt it proved they deserved to win even more.
