‘Attack on Titan’ Chapter 140: This intriguing statement hints at series return

Share

Attack on Titan Chapter 139 has officially concluded, but the Bessatsu Shonen Magazine’s editorial department left a rather intriguing goodbye. Does saying “the battle is only getting started” mean there will be Attack on Titan Chapter 140.

It looks like it is not the end of the surviving characters, like Mikasa, Armin, and more. If the hint is true, there may be Attack on Titan Chapter 140 coming.

Warning: The following content is full of Attack on Titan Chapter 139 spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Chapter 139’s ending

Eren has officially met his demise, and Mikasa buried his remains.

Eren is the only man Mikasa has loved and will continuously do so despite his death.

Sadly, their situation doesn’t let them grow their romance; worst, it even separated them.

Though Mikasa never considers Eren as her enemy, she had no choice but to end his life.

For the good of the many, she decapitated his body. Little did she know that this move would help lift the Titan curse.

Touched by her extraordinary deed, Ymir learned to let go of her 2,000-year-old love after witnessing how Mikasa did it, per HITC.

Ymir later removed the Titan curse from everyone, making everything return to normal in an instant.

Chapter 139 serves as the manga’s final chapter. But it looks like, there is still a chance for Attack on Titan Chapter 140.

The possibility of having Chapter 140

According to Epic Dope, if Attack on Titan Chapter 140 will push through, it may explore the peace negotiation between Eldia and humanity.

Armin, Jean, Connie, Levi, and others return to Paradis to be ambassadors and focus on the peace negotiation.

What makes the ending more intriguing is Bessatsu Magazine’s statement about the series finale.

“This world that did not exist until 2009 was made into words and pictures, given meaning,” the statement read. “[It] turned into a story, printed in the first issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and serialized for eleven years and seven months by Hajime Isayama’s hands.”

As it thanked the readers for their support, they dropped a massive hint that the manga could continue.

“Out battle is only getting started,” it read.

So, what does it mean? Will there be a new series based on Attack on Titan that Hajime Isayama is working on?

If yes, will it feature the same characters as the original or have a new set of characters?

There are a lot of possibilities on where this story could go. By the looks of it, only can answer these questions about Attack on Titan Chapter 140.
