As per the Anime News Network report, an announcement was shared by the publishing company Kodansha on Tuesday that Hajime Isayama will conclude the Attack on Titan series on April 9. The 34th and final volume of the manga will ship on June 9.
Isayama shared that he had been saying that he would end the manga since eight years ago. And now, he can finally fulfill his promise.
The editors of the manga did not extend its length, as Isayama emphasized. However, what came up often in the final push is, “when will it end?”
The anime’s creator vowed to do his best until the finale. And simultaneously, he also hopes fans will keep enjoying the manga until the end.
Furthermore, as teased by Kodansha, many projects are being prepared for the manga’s conclusion. It also noted that over 100 million copies are in circulation worldwide for the manga.
In November, Isayama reported that the manga is 1% to 2% away from completion.
It was in 2009 that Isayama launched the manga in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine.
Kodansha Comics is publishing Attack on Titan in English digitally, and in print, and on December 22, it published its 32nd volume.
On the November 2018 MBS documentary program, Jōnetsu Tairiku, Isayama previewed the rough layout draft for the final panel’s manga series.
And as he stated in December 2019, he had aimed to end the manga in 2020.
Moreover, In April 2013, the first television anime season based on the manga premiered. And in April 2017, the second season aired.
The third season’s first part premiered in July 2018, and on the NHK General channel in April 2019, the second half premiered in Japan.
Meanwhile, on December 7, Attack on Titan The Final Season premiered on NHK and will run for 16 episodes.
